In anticipation of my next fiber art class at Curious on Hudson, here’s a sneak peak of the Star Stamped Infinity Scarves that we’ll be creating together.
I’m sharing a quick, simple and cheap DIY project to make your own foam stamps. No carving is required to make your own stamps to use for a variety of projects. It’s a whopping three step process. Are you ready for this?
Materials and Tools:
- Wood blocks of various sizes (available here or from a friendly woodworking father-in-law)
- a sheet of craft foam
- pencil
- x-acto knife
- glue (I prefer a tacky glue, like Alene’s or rubber cement)
Step One: Draw out your shapes on the foam sheet and cut them out.
Step Two: Glue shapes to wooden blocks.
Step Three: Stamp away!
That’s it! You’re all done. We’ll be using these for the Stamped Scarf Project next week, but I think they’ll also be great for making gift wrap.
STAMPED SCARF CLASS NEW DATE!
Make your own stamped constellation scarf on Tuesday, October 21st. We’ll be playing with stamps, stitching, beads, markers and paint in this fun hour and a half class. Create a soft fabric scarf with your own zodiac symbol, or your favorite night sky scene. Or just stamp all over and connect the stars to invent your own constellations (we won’t tell anyone)! We’ll provide all the supplies and a glass of wine for you.
